Jacob has produced numerous videos and multi-media projects for several of my clients, most notably Tektronix and the Portland Art Museum. For each project, he has brought not only a unique creative vision, but an ability to deliver on budget as well. He’s also a great team players and provides insight to the projects that is invaluable.

His unique blend of artistry and technical ability results in his ability to see things differently, and the result is always something special and a delight for the client.

[Pander] is an artist/filmmaker totally in control of the process. He is highly organized and a great team leader. From what I have seen, an important part of his success with projects is that he has always chosen great people to collaborate/crew with him in the making of films. He knows when to lead and when to be open to other’s ideas.

Second he has a great way of making a script/storyboard the best it can be within the boundaries of a budget by his ability to visualize the story in an interesting way. He has the eye of a movie maker.

And lastly working with Jacob is fun. He brings intelligence, and even temperament, and a good sense of humor to the serious work at hand.

I have been fortunate to have worked with Jacob on several video projects. We were dispatched to North Carolina, Arizona and Indiana to capture the heart and soul of a network of schools. The travel schedule and production timeline were demanding.

His calm under pressure, his ability to maker everyone on set, including interview subjects feel at ease, his ability to think under pressure and balance the excruciatingly small details with the big picture goals allowed us to capture all that we needed to tell a compelling story.

The editing process is where his skills and thoughtfulness as a storyteller really came to bear — he is adept at guiding interviews to get the intangibles, and then able to parse through 100s of hours of tape and develop the thread that links multiple points of view to tell a cohesive and meaningful story.

We have worked on a variety of interview-led video projects. His attention to detail and forethought of what is needed and ability to collaborate to tell a holistic story is what I appreciated most about working with Jacob. He always came fully prepared for the day’s work, all equipment (and back-up equipment) charged and ready to go, release forms signed, research material and interview questions etc. prepped. He has the ability to anticipate what is needed to round out an emerging story and capture those images through his adaptable shooting style — both formal and loose in the main footage as well as his creative take on B roll footage.

His lives and breaths his art. His passion is deeply embedded in telling a great story.

I’ve worked on several projects with Jacob and I am exceptionally pleased with the outcomes.

Jacob’s approach to a project is much like that of a seasoned curator. He gathers and sorts a copious amount of information, organizes it into a succinct and evocative narrative, then delivers a thought-provoking production.

Jacob accesses his intuition and artist’s knowledge to create the foundation for a meaningful story, then employs his organizational and technical skills to give it form, all the while mindfully respecting the collaboration. His timelines and cost estimates are soundly considered and successfully managed within his projected valuations. I have no doubt we will join forces again!
